Meet the Puppies

Golden retriever puppies for sale

Every family is unique, and so is every puppy. While purebred Golden Retrievers are known for their friendly and adaptable nature, each pup comes with its own personality. Some are high-energy adventure seekers, always ready for a hike, swim, or run, while others are calmer and happiest curled up next to their people. When we match a puppy to a family, we consider not just lifestyle and activity levels, but also personalities—both human and canine. A strong-willed, determined pup might thrive in a home while a gentle, easygoing pup may be the perfect companion for another.

Puppies grow into the family they join, but they also bring something special of their own. Finding the right fit ensures a lifelong bond of love, loyalty, and adventure. It’s time to find your right fit here at Rangeland.

If you are interested in securing your selection place via our waitlist, please reach out through the “Reserve” buttons anywhere on this page or through the contact page listed along the top of any Rangeland Retrievers page. If you have a favorite puppy in mind or are looking for a specific personality type or gender, please include that in the message section. Once your request is received and your retainer is paid ($750), your spot in the selection line will be secured. The remainder of the purchase fee and contract are due prior to pick-up at 8 weeks. While reservations are on a first come basis, we strive to help every family who comes to Rangeland receive the puppy they feel would be the best addition to your family. For more information, please see “How do I reserve a puppy?” below.

Please note: Rangeland Retriever breeding rights may or may not be available to purchase for an additional fee depending on the litter, parents and the potential breeder’s location. Most litters are sold “limited” meaning breeding rights will not be included and the puppy must be spayed at a certain point of their development. If breeding rights are desired, please add that to your note section and we will reach out to you. Again, breeding rights are purchasable for an additional fee if permitted.

  • Our puppy selection process is based on a first-paid, first-pick basis. This insures we are prioritizing placement with only those serious with investing in one of our Golden Retrievers. Once you have secured your spot in the selection lineup through paying your retainer fee ($950), you will be placed in the selection order accordingly. You can indicate your preference for a male or female puppy on your intake form. Puppy selection begins at six weeks of age, as puppies undergo significant personality development between newborn to six weeks. This ensures families can choose a puppy whose temperament matches their household. At 8 weeks, the remainder of the payment will be paid ($2025) as well as the signing of the final buyer contract. Once BOTH are complete, we will coordinate a time for you to pick up your new Golden!

  • Dew claws are small, extra toes located on the inside of a dog’s front (and sometimes back) legs. While they serve little purpose in domesticated dogs, they can pose a risk of injury by getting caught or torn. For dogs who work in the field or hunt, are often on adventures or maintain a more active lifestyle, dew claws are particularly prone to injury, which can be painful and require costly surgical removal later in life. Removing them early prevents these issues and helps keep working dogs safe. Additionally, dew claws can sometimes scratch owners, children, or furniture, making their removal a common choice for families who want to avoid potential injuries.

  • BOTH! Both males and female golden retrievers are known for being incredible family dogs and loyal companions regardless of their sex. The same goes for a hunting companion, service dog, or any other type of training you may be considering. As far as Scout or Mac are concerned, you can find either hitting the trails or laying on the floor with a toddler sprawled across them. Both are extremely patient, loving, and devoted to their families.

  • Bringing a new puppy home requires preparation! Here’s what you’ll need:

    • A properly fitted collar and leash

    • High-quality puppy food and feeding station

    • Absorbent disposable pads for training area indoors (if desired)

    • A cozy crate or bed

    • Chew toys and enrichment items

    • A scheduled veterinary appointment for a checkup and vaccinations

  • Puppies experience a big transition when leaving their littermates, so patience and consistency are key. Provide a safe and quiet space, maintain a routine, and use positive reinforcement when introducing them to their new environment. Comfort items such as a blanket with their mother’s scent can also help ease the transition.

  • New puppies require a series of vet visits for vaccinations and wellness checks. Typically, they will need vaccines at 6-8 weeks, 10-12 weeks, and 14-16 weeks, along with deworming treatments and flea/tick prevention. Be sure to follow up with your veterinarian to establish a long-term health plan. Rangeland Golden Retrievers will receive their first set of vaccinations before leaving our care. This insures owners are on the right track to a healthy, happy new Golden.

    • Sleep Schedules: Puppies need a lot of sleep! Expect them to sleep 18-20 hours a day in the early weeks.

    • Food Schedules: Puppies should eat three to four small meals per day until about six months old, then transition to two meals per day.

    • Bathroom Breaks: Puppies need to go outside frequently, especially after eating, drinking, playing, or waking up from naps. A good rule of thumb is that they can hold their bladder for about one hour per month of age.
